9 Aug 2017

Subsequent to the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing, at which Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of NGOs in network development for cooperation, SRCIC is proud to announce its second business summit -- the 2017 Silk Road Business Summit and Silk Road International Culture Week to be held on 8 September 2017 in Xi'an.

The Summit as one more opportunity to foster global cooperation and to develop business network within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative has gained full support from China Chamber of International Commerce, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, China NGO Network for International Exchanges, and China Foundation for International Studies. The Summit will have estimated 600 participants including government representatives, chairmen of chambers of commerce, ambassadors to China, Silk Road Think Tank experts, and business representatives from the Silk Road countries and beyond.

So far, 142 guests from 60 countries have confirmed to attend the Summit, including Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara, former President of Croatia Stjepan Mesic, former Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Mesut Yilmaz, Honorary Chairman of the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce Adnan Kassar, and Chairman of Union of Arab Banks Sheikh Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabbah.

Business leaders of the Silk Road Chambers of International Commerce will gather in Tang West Market, Xi'an to contribute ideas, engage in discussions, and share wisdom on a series of topics. The Xi'an Consensus on Building a Global Community of Shared Future will be formed up as a milestone of SRCIC's endeavor in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.
