5th China-Mongolia-Russia Mayor Summit on Tea Road

Themed as "connecting cities through communication, cooperation and sharing", the fifth China-Mongolia-Russia Mayor Summit is being co-hosted by the Tea Road (China) Cooperative, the Chinese Culture Promotion Society, the Peace and Friendship Organization of Mongolia, the Russian Association for International Cooperation, People’s Government of Jinzhong Municipality, Jinzhong Tourism Development Commission, and People’s Government of Pingyao County in Pingyao, Shanxi Province, China from 15 to 18 May 2017.

 

 

The government officials, scholars and experts, and leaders of related industries from 81 cities of the three above-mentioned countries participating in the summit will discuss how to revitalize the Tea Road and strengthen the economic, trade and cultural communication and cooperation between the cities along the Tea Road.

 

SRCIC Honorary Chairman and the Chairman of the Chinese Culture Promotion Society Mr. Wangshi, SRCIC Vice Chairman and the Chairman of the Peace and Friendship Organization of Mongolia Mr. Deleg Zagdjav, and SRCIC Vice Chairman and the Chairman of the Russian Association for International Cooperation Mr. Sergey Kalashnikov attended the opening ceremony held at the fountain square in front of the Yingxun Gate of the ancient Pingyao City on 16 May.

 

The “Tea Road”, originated from the 17th century, is another important international trade route after the Silk Road. To promote the cultural, tourist, economic and trade development of the cities along the Tea Road, the China-Mongolia-Russia Mayor Summit was launched by China 2012. The summit has been successfully held four times in Erenhot of Inner Mongolia, Wuyishan of Fujian Province, and Qianshan County of Jiangxi Province, China.

 

A series of seminars, culture and tourism promotions and trade cooperation negotiations, Sino-Russia Tea Road Forum, and the specialty expo for cities along the Tea Road will be held during the summit.
