Agreement Reached between SRCIC and City of Zhangjiajie for Cooperation

On 19 January 2018, Mr. Li Zhonghang on behalf of Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce signed a networking agreement with Zhangjiajie Government to include proposals of project collaboration, joint organization of 2018 Silk Road business summit, and Zhangjiajie becoming a member of the Silk Road Urban Alliance in SRCIC.

 

The signed agreement was the outcome of the recent exchanges between the two sides through visits and discussions. A strategic cooperation agreement was also signed on the same day between the city and the Tang West Market Group for a Silk Road Cultural Business Park in Zhangjiajie with an investment of RMB 35 billion.

 

At the signing ceremony, the top officials of the municipal government emphasized the importance of the partnership with SRCIC and expressed the confidence in the cooperation to uplift the city in tourism and international influence.

 

Mr. Li Zhonghang responded by saying that SRCIC valued the opportunity to work with the city government and agreed to have further plans for specific projects and programs.

 

SRCIC Deputy Secretary General Diane Bian was present on the occasion together with her colleagues Mr. Li Kelang, Ken Li and George Zhang.

 

BACKGROUND

Today's Zhangjiajie became a city in 1988 and has a population of 1.7 million. Its natural beauty proves of global significance and tourism remains the major sector in the local economic development.
