Dr. Alexander Shokhin met with Mexican Ambassador to the Russian Federation

Dr. Alexander Shokhin, RSPP President as well as the SRCIC Vice Chairman, met with Mexican Ambassador to the Russian Federation H.E. Ms. Norma Pensado Moreno on 7 November 2017.

 

The participants discussed a wide range of issues, including future of trade and economic agreements, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA); Russian – Mexican cooperation in priority sectors, e.g. digital economy, energy, agriculture and tourism; and opportunities to broaden engagement between Russian and Mexican companies.

 

Dr. Alexander Shokhin shared with the Mexican colleagues RSPP`s positions on improving business climate in the country and presented Union`s bilateral and multilateral international cooperation priorities. Possibilities to organize a business roundtable “Russia-Mexico” in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) were also discussed.

 

H.E. Ms. Norma Pensado highlighted positive Mexican experience on establishing digital hubs in Jalisco and Guadalajara states which bring together efforts of state authorities, business and expert institutions towards economic digitalization.

 

The participants agreed to continue close business contacts.
