Member Updates: Belarus-Italy Business Forum on Green Economy

On 23 April 2018, the Belarus-Italy Business Forum on Green Economy will be held in Minsk.

 

The event is organized by the Embassy of the Italian Republic in the Republic of Belarus jointly with Confindustria Belarus and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the application for participation is now open for Belarusian enterprises and organizations.

 

The purpose of the forum is to promote advanced manufacturing technologies in the field of green economy with a special focus on waste management and pyrolysis, renewable sources of energy (solar and wind power plants), energy efficiency in civil and industrial construction, agriculture, biomass, smart cities and other related issues.

 

During the business forum, the participants are planned to consider the prospects for extending bilateral trade and economic cooperation in the field of green economy and other areas with a focus on the opportunities of using Italian investments.  Also within the framework of the business forum, the possibilities for new projects financing offered by the Italian State Export Credit Agency (SACE), large private and international financial institutions (UBI Banca, Belagroprombank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund) will be discussed.

 

The plenary part of the event will be followed by negotiations between businessmen of Belarus and Italy.

 

The forum will be held at "Double Tree by Hilton" hotel (Minsk, Pobediteley Ave., 9). The event starts at 9.00, registration opens at 8.30.

 

Participation in the event is free of charge. The number of participants is limited.

Decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 1061 of December 21, 2016 approved the National Action Plan for the Development of Green Economy in the Republic of Belarus until 2020, which determined the promising areas of green economy development in the Republic of Belarus: the development of electric transport (infrastructure) and urban mobility; the implementation of smart cities concept; the development of energy-efficient building construction and the improvement of the energy efficiency of the housing stock; lowering GDP energy intensity; increasing energy efficiency; increasing the potential of using renewable sources of energy; creation of conditions for organic products production; sustainable consumption and production; ecotourism development.
