China-Europe Chang'an freight train completes 1,000th trip
9 May 2020

The X9003 China-Europe Chang'an freight train departed from Xinzhu Railway Station in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, and headed for Uzbekistan on May 6, loaded with 49 containers of products and goods such as refrigerators, tea, lamps and air compressors.

Officials said this marked the 1,000th trip made by the freight train this year.

With the continual improvement of the coverage, influence and transportation efficiency of the freight service, the number of trips has gradually increased. This year, it took only 129 days for the freight train to reach 1,000 trips, which was 76 days less than last year.

Since the second quarter of this year, due to the influence of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, export channels haves been affected to a certain extent. Officials said the regular and stable operation of the freight train has provided strong logistics support for companies to maintain normal export trade.

Now the freight train makes nine to ten trips a day, double the same period last year.

In order to boost the transportation capacity of the freight train, this year China Railway Xi'an Group Co streamlined the handling of transportation declarations and approval procedures. The aim was to create an international trade channel with high efficiency, low costs and excellent services.
