Launched on Nov 28, 2013, Chain-Europe Chang'an freight train service has become a vital transport link for stabilizing global supply chains, especially after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a landmark achievement of the Belt and Road Initiative, the freight train service starts and ends at Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Thus far, the freight train has opened 15 routes to 44 cities in 14 countries in Europe and Asia. It has become a driving force behind Shaanxi's opening-up to the world.

The freight train had made more than 3,300 trips this year as of Nov 20, achieving a double-digit increase in the number of trains and cargo capacity.
