A farewell party held at SRCIC Beijing Office in honor of Georgian Ambassador

On May 31, 2018, SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong attended a farewell banquet at SRCIC Beijing Office commemorating the successful tenure of Mr. David Aptsiauri, Georgian Ambassador to China. Ms. Wang Xiaopin, Director General of International Cooperation Department from Sate Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Mr. Zhu Rui, Secretary General of China NGO Network for International Exchanges, Mr. Gu Fan, Deputy Secretary General of China Association for Friendship, Mr. Wu Meng, Director of Bilateral Cooperation Department from China Chamber of International Commerce, Mr. Song Yanhui, Deputy Secretary General of China Association for International Economic Cooperation, and Ms. Lu Lili, Deputy Secretary General of China Council for Brand Development were all present at the event.

 

 

Mr. Lu in his speech praised Georgia as one of the earliest countries giving positive support to the Belt and Road Initiative. He enumerated the interactions between SRCIC and Georgia by reviewing SRCIC's first international road show in Georgia, Georgia performed as the Guest Country of Honor at 2016 Silk Road Business Summit hosted by SRCIC, SRCIC's support to 2017 Tbilisi Belt & Road Forum, and the meetings between SRCIC delegation, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

 

Mr. Lu summarized by saying that “With full support from Your Excellency Mr. Aptsiauri in the past 4 years, efficient communication and remarkable cooperation have been proceeded between Georgia and SRCIC. I, on behalf of SRCIC, would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to H.E. Aptsiauri. I am reluctant to say goodbye to Your Excellency and firmly believe that our friendship with Your Excellency and Georgia will last forever.”

 

 

In return, H.E. Aptsiauri deeply appreciated the support from Mr. Lu, Mr. Jemal Inaishvili, Honorary Chairman of SRCIC and President of Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Nino Chikovani, Vice-Chairman of SRCIC and President of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as other close friends of Georgia. Mr. Aptsiauri pointed out that the Belt and Road Initiative would not only be confined in business cooperation but also extend to cultural exchanges. He highly evaluated the exhibition of Chinese Tea Culture and Georgian Wine Culture at 2016 Silk Road Business Summit, deeming it as the best example of the cultural exchange between China and Georgia. Mr. Aptsiauri also gave his best wishes to SRCIC, hoping SRCIC would continue to enhance the relationship between Georgia and China. “Life is a book turning the pages to start new chapters. I will strive to promote the interaction between China and Georgia in my new position”, H.E. Aptsiauri added.

 

The farewell party concluded in an overwhelmingly friendly atmosphere.

 

BACKGROUND INFO

On September 6, 2016, the Historical Cheers -- Exhibition of Chinese Tea Culture and Georgian Wine Culture was successfully held during 2016 Silk Road Business Summit. H.E. Aptsiauri introduced Georgian wine culture to all the participants. SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong and Georgian Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili proposed a toast with Chinese tea and Georgian Wine. The activity included sessions of promotion, tasting, performance and business negotiation and enhanced the cultural exchange and business cooperation between Georgia and China.
