Dear Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce,

The “One Belt, One Road” (OBOR) launched by the Chinese government in 2013 has seen the flame of the Ancient Silk Road past glories of trade and business development reignited. The Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce is part of this revival, bringing the hopes and aspirations of a new economic prosperity to the region, through fostering commercial ties and interconnections of institutions along the Silk Road nations, facilitating new opportunities and collaborations between them.

The Silk Road nations together capture 62% of global GDP. The economic and demographic diversity of OBOR provides many opportunities for enterprises within its member nations to mutually benefit from each's strengths, opportunities, and to assist with their respective challenges.

In uniting the diversity of nations by road and sea, there is little doubt that the priority of infrastructure, physical and digital, is essential and shall be the catalyst to facilitate the interconnectivity between nations.

On behalf of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the ICC World Chambers Federation, I would like to send my warmest regards to you on the occasion of the 2017 Silk Road Business Summit in Xi'an, and my hope of successful outcomes to your discussions. We look forward to welcoming Chairman Lu Jianzhong to share these results with us during the 10th World Chambers Congress in Sydney, Australia, 19-21 September.

With warmest regards

Peter Mihok

Chair
