Mr. Lu Jianzhong Elected Deputy to 13th NPC China

On 30 January 2018, Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress in China held its 13th meeting in Xi'an, the capital city of the province, and elected 68 deputies to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), the annual meeting of which is to be held in Beijing on 5 March 2018.


At this provincial meeting, SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong has become one of the deputies to the 13th National People's Congress, China's legislature and the highest organ of state power. Mr. Lu has been a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) for three consecutive terms, each term being five years, the same with the NPC deputy.


In addition to the election of the NPC deputies, the 13th provincial NPC also approved the appointment of the top level officials of the provincial government, including governor, vice governors, and heads of provincial Higher People's Court and the Procuratorate.


A ceremony was held for the elected to take an oath of loyalty to the Chinese Constitution.
