For celebration of SRCIC 2nd year anniversary, a themed concert namely the Silk Road Melodies of Harmony will be held in the Concert Hall of the National Center for the Performing Arts, Beijing, China on December 10, 2017.

As China's top performing art center, the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is a key member of prestigious international theatres and the supreme palace of performing arts in China. Besides, NCPA is also the grandest platform for international arts exchange and an important base for cultural and creative industry.

The SRCIC concert will start at 19:30 on December 10. Seven chapters of different national melodies will be performed with both oriental and western instruments.

The ancient Chinese musical instruments were grouped into 8 categories known as Ba Yin, i.e. silk, bamboo, wood, stone, metal, clay, gourd and leather. Traditionally the twisted silk was used for the string instruments. The first half of the concert will be the Chinese string music and the second half for the performance of the modern orchestra, an opportunity for the audience to enjoy the music of the Silk Road in the past and at present.
