Mr. Lu Jianzhong attends 1st Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network Forum in Beijing

Honorable guests at the Forum

 

1st Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network Forum was held in Beijing on 21 to 22 November. Chinese President Xi Jinping and UN Secretary-General António Guterres sent messages of congratulations to the Forum. Former Prime Minister of Egypt Hon. Essam Abdelaziz Ahmed Sharaf, Former Prime Minister of Romania Mr. Victor-Viorel Ponta, and President of China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE) Mr. Sun Jiazheng addressed the opening ceremony.

 

 Mr. Lu is speaking at the Plenary Session.

 

Mr. Lu was invited to attend the Forum and delivered a speech. He said that globalization drives the diversification of international players. Addressing the global issues involves sovereignty countries, international organizations, NGOs, enterprises as well as civil societies. In the future, SRCIC and CNIE will continue to work with business associations and enterprises from different countries and regions to promote the Belt and Road construction, and to build a community for all.

Mr. Wang Shi, Vice President of CNIE, President of the Chinese Culture Promotion Society and SRCIC Honorary Chairman, also attended the Forum and delivered a speech. Besides, Mr. Wang moderated two panel discussions in Session II of the Plenary Session.

 

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Wang Yajun, Assistant Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), and CNIE's Adviser, made a concluding speech.

 

Two important documents Constitution of the Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network (SIRONET) and Beijing Consensus for SIRONET were released at the closing ceremony. Meanwhile, SIRONET has established its International Steering Committee and its Secretariat.
