SMEs Cross-Border Matchmaking Event organized by SRCIC member CSEBA

On April 12 , 2019, the 8th Summit of Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) and China was held in Dubrovnik City, Croatia. It gathered political leaders of 17 countries, during which PM Li Keqiang proposed a series of measures to further promote cooperation between China and CEE countries.

 

During the 8th CEEC & China Summit in Dubrovnik, at the same venue, the 9th Business Forum of CEEC & China was held on April 11-12. Over 1,000 participants from 30 countries participated in the SMEs Cross-Border Matchmaking Event with active participation, preparation and organization from Chinese Southeast European Business Association (CSEBA). Numerous numbers of CSEBA members and partners have actively participated in B2B meetings with Chinese enterprises which included representatives from Bank of China, CRBC, CCCC, Norinco, Sinosure, Huawei, Geely, China Railway, Exim Bank, COSCO, China Energy, China Development Bank, ZTE and over 100 other enterprises from all over China.

 

 

CSEBA, as a member of the Silk Road Chamber of Commerce (SRCIC) since the 2017, used the opportunity to promote cooperation with SRCIC amongst enterprises in CEE countries. Dubrovnik event, and the visit of PM Li Keqiang provided a perfect chance to further promote economic cooperation with PR China, and one of the most valuable platforms for development of this cooperation is SRCIC. CSEBA helped significantly in the media promotion of this event, that attracted over 100 journalists from Croatia, China and other countries.  

 

Several agreements have been signed at the 9th Business Forum of CEEC & China between Croatia and China. The Kantrida Stadium and Top International Engineering Corporation (TIEC) signed a cooperation on the project for the construction of the new football stadium in Rijeka. Cooperation has been signed on development of railway infrastructure in Croatia between Croatian Railway Infrastructure Co., China Railway Eryuan Engineering and CRBC. The Ministry of Health signed a letter of intent with the Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinopharm. Faculty of Civil Engineering in Zagreb and the CRBC signed cooperation on student mobility and knowledge exchange. Two private companies signed a cooperation on renewable energy projects. Metamorphosis and Shanghai Everglow Management Partners will open a Museum of Illusions in China. Many CEEC Region companies found new contacts amongst more than 100 Chinese enterprises during B2B Matchmaking Meetings.  

 

On the margin of the “16+1” Summit, CSEBA organized visiting tours for CSEBA's partners from China to the main investment locations in Croatia. Kumrovec, the birthplace of Tito, and Krapinske Toplice, Croatia's best medical tourism destination, are the most promising area for investments into congress and medical tourism. Investment projects include the building of the new congress center, several hotels, wellness and spa centre, and other supporting facilities.

 

CSEBA, as a partner of SRCIC, continues to promote bilateral and economic cooperation with China, and would like to congratulate SRCIC for the results of the Silk Road initiative during the last year.
