SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong attends 2nd Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network Forum

On April 27, under the theme of Deepen Pragmatic Cooperation and Create a Better Life, the 2nd Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network Forum organized by China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE) was held in Beijing. Over 170 representatives of Chinese and international non-governmental organizations from 22 countries and regions attended the forum. SRCIC Chairman Lu Jianzhong was invited to attend the forum and delivered a speech at the  achievements exchanges session.

Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, addressed the opening ceremony of the forum. He stated that the Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network is one of importance outcomes by implementing President Xi Jingping's BRI.

Chairman Lu Jianzhong introduced the outcomes SRCIC achieved from the aspects of mechanism platform, commercial collaboration and cultural exchanges. He specially mentioned SRCIC Silk Road Sunshine Fund which has sponsored 51 outstanding students from 9 Belt and Road countries to study in China for 2 successive years.

Chairman Lu stressed in his speech that the people-to-people bond is the cultural foundation for the Belt and Road construction. NGO is an important bridge between the government and society, and an important channel to reflect public opinion, which also  plays an indispensable role in people-to-people bond. Chairman Lu  also mentioned that under the guidance and support of CNIE, SRCIC will improve the platform for practical cooperation, give full play to the role of super liaison and promote the implementation of Belt and Road Initiative.
