Silk Road Chamber of Int'l Commerce now has 91 members

Lu Jianzhong, Chairman of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, said the organization now has 91 members from 75 countries and regions that are participants in the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

Lu said the Chamber had only 36 members when it was established two years ago.

 

Lu made the remarks at a ceremony on Sunday in Beijing, which marked the Chamber's two-year anniversary.

Since its founding in December 2015 in Hong Kong, the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce has been promoting policy coordination, trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges for countries and regions that are part of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The report from the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China said China will continue its opening-up policy and actively promote international cooperation in line with the Belt and Road Initiative.

On December 10th, the chambers of commerce of Lithuania, Poland, Somalia, Russia and Bulgaria joined the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, bringing its total membership to 91.

 

A concert of classical Chinese music was held on Sunday evening at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing. The concert was organized by the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce and the Chinese Culture Promotion Society as part of the cultural exchange efforts.
