SRCIC invited to Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday celebration by the British Embassy Beijing

To mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's 91st birthday, the British Embassy in Beijing held a celebration on 4 July 2017 at the Ambassador’s Residence in Beijing. HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, Dame Barbara Janet Woodware DCMG OBE, British Ambassador to China and Madame FU Ying, member of the Standing Committee of the NPC, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the NPC and former Ambassador to the UK attended the celebration.

Mr. LI Zhonghang, Secretary-General of SRCIC and Ms. SUN Yuan, Assistant to Secretary-General of SRCIC were invited to attend the celebration on behalf of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce.

At the celebration, the Spirit of Youth was officially launched by HRH The Princess Royal Princess Anne, Dame Barbara Janet Woodware DCMG OBE, British Ambassador to China, and Ms. JIANG Shuying, Chinese actress. And Ms. JIANG Shuying was appointed as the Spirit of Youth Campaign Ambassador.

Spirit of Youth is a China-wide campaign aiming to inspire the next generation of leaders in China and the UK and to promote deeper collaboration and exchange. The campaign will continue into December 2017 and consist of events and activities across six key themes: Culture and Creative, Sport, Tourism, Health, Science and Innovation and Education.

 

Friendly Exchange between SRCIC and British Embassy in Beijing

 

On 3 June 2017, Mr. Nick Low, Counsellor (Regional Cities) of British Embassy in Beijing, paid a visit to the Tang West Market Museum, the initiator of the Silk Road International Association of Museums  of the SRCIC, and had meetings with Mr. LI Zhonghang, Secretary-General of SRCIC, Mr. ZHANG Chaoyang, Deputy Secretary-General of SRCIC and Ms. WANG Bin, Director of the Tang West Market Museum.

 

On 16 May 2017, Mr. Martyn Roper, Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Beijing, attended the signing ceremony between the SRCIC and Changsha Municipal People's Government in Beijing. Both parties have invested 26.3 billion RMB to jointly develop a Belt and Road International Cultural Industrial Park in Changsha, Hunan.
