A Chinese delegation of 26 SOEs led by Deputy Minister of Commerce, Liu Changyu, signed a purchase contract worth of US$1.4 billion with the Philippines. As we thank your for your support to Philippine products, we hope China, via Ambassador Zhao Jianhua and Counselor Jin Yuan, would help the Philippines add more values to these products. We are grateful that last week at Manila, Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan announced that China will invest a industrial park in the Philippines and move the well established manufacturing sector to the Philippines. China will share it professional knowledge, manufacturing techniques and skills with the Philippines which will elevate the basic value of our products. We are grateful to this offer. Thank you for the friendship and partnership you have established between the two peoples.”

Ambassador Zhao Jianhua said, since President Duterte took office, we had seen consistent growth in trade between China and the Philippines, especially a huge leap in tourism. We expected the number of Chinese tourists to the Philippines would hit a record high over one million.
