Xi'an, China

8 September 2017

Dear Mr. Chairman, dear participants!

It’s a big honor for me to participate in this important event. Thank you very much for the opportunity to present Ukraine's position and Ukraine's interests here.

Ukraine highly appreciates cooperation with People's Republic of China especially in sphere of education and science.

First of all we are sure that this cooperation is mutually beneficial. Ukraine has strong capability for stable economic growth based on innovations, new technologies, modern achievements of Ukrainian and worldwide science.

Successful experience of China in modernization of domestic economy is invaluable for my state. Its experience of good public management, effective reforms in education and research, experience of implementation research outcomes in industry and agriculture.

Ukrainian government decision to focus its activity on education as a priority is a right way for more attractive successful economic renovation.

In 2014 we started radical reforms in higher education and now we have the first positive feedbacks. Our universities launched new education programs oriented on needs of labor market. Our universities are becoming more and more attractive for international students, for students from China as well.

This year we started reforms in secondary education presented as New Ukrainian School project.

Quality of education is a common aim of all educational reforms. Ukraine successfully participates in EC programs on academic mobility, research, higher education at all.

We hope to develop similar collaboration with China.

We are sure that cooperation with the Chamber gives us perfect chance to succeed.

So we consider this event as important step in implementation of Memorandum on cooperation between the Chamber and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. We believe that this cooperation will mutually beneficial for our countries, for our nations.

Thank you.
